It will come as no surprise that our animal loving nation goes crackers at Christmas when it comes to buying gifts for our pets.
According to a poll by the RSPCA, our annual spend on pampering our pets during the festive season hits around £300 million.
With owners dishing out anywhere from £10 to more than £50 per pet, often more than they’ll spend on the mother-in-law, we thought we’d look at some of the presents your dog or cat could expect under the tree this year.
If your pooch is partial to a food treat – and let’s face it, which dog isn’t? – how about an antler chew? Available in small to extra large sizes, you might have to explain to the children it hasn’t really come from Rudolph…
Dressing up gifts?
On a practical level, the dark December days are a good time to invest in one of the fabulous Lumitube dog collars. They are lightweight and come in a range of colours and sizes to create an ultra-bright, even glow around the whole neck, giving superb 360-degree visibility.
Even the fussiest of felines will find something to entertain them under the Christmas tree this year – which might distract them from playing with the baubles for a few minutes!
There are stockings of toys and treats, Christmas themed toys including snowmen and tantalising teasers. Your cat doesn’t have to miss out on the seasonal fashion either thanks to a sparkling festive cat collar and these turkey flavoured treats will be gifts for the tastebuds.
In the next blog we’ll look at the gifts you could buy for other pets from rabbits to reptiles!
